It is with deep sorrow, but profound love to announce the passing of Rochelle Romero Dacio, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend who left us on December 3, 2024, at 2:16 am. Passing away in her home, and surrounded by her family, three children and husband of 25 years.
Firstborn of Escolastico and Heferita Romero, Rochelle was born in Agana, Guam on September 19, 1973. She attended Sullivans Elementary school, and is a 1991 graduate of Nile C. Kinnick High School in Yokosuka, Japan. She went on to attend California State University, Bakersfield where she met her true love David. They graduated together in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her career expanded 27 years beginning as a Critical Care nurse in Redondo Beach then Telemetry nurse at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas, then DOU and ICU nurse at Zion hospital and then on as a Telemedicine nurse for Kaiser Permanente On Call.
Rochelle had a competitive heart and a playful spirit. She enjoyed cooking and trying new food at various establishments. She dedicated her life to family and caring for others. She was the #1 supporter and biggest fan of family. Whether it be interests, talent, or passion, she was a builder of confidence and a source of encouragement. She had a knack of remembering names, birthdays, and always wanted to be part of spreading joy and happiness when celebrating occasions.
A little over a year ago, she was diagnosed with bronchitis, however, further imaging showed Stage 4 Lung Cancer. She was always careful with her health, had never smoked nor had genetics pointing to that diagnosis. However, Rochelle fought this senseless disease not wanting to worry others, but instead courageously battling against it headstrong until her last breath.
She is survived by her husband, David Dacio; children, Seth, Sarina, and Silana Dacio; parents, Escolastico and Heferita Romero; and siblings, Roanne Salvador, Roena Romero, and Romel Romero, who will forever cherish her memory.
Her warmth, wisdom, and boundless love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Even in heaven, we feel her guiding spirit and unfailing love always with us.
Forever loved, forever missed.
