Richard Henderson, age77, passed away on Oct 4th 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his wife Paula Henderson, daughter Tonya Henderson, son Scott Henderson; grand daughters Alexandra, Abigail, Madeline and Elise Meyer and Sarah and Stevie Henderson. He is also survived by sisters Karen Hickman and Gloria Shepherd; nieces Sandra Owens, Kathy Carter and nephews Mike Hickman and Mark and Kevin Shepherd. He is predeceased by parents Helen and Willis Henderson, sister Loraine Bundy, son Brian Henderson and nephews Tommy Shepherd and Eric Bundy.
He practiced medicine, specializing in Neonatology, in San Diego from 1976-2007. He worked at Children’s Hospital, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital and Scripps Hospital. He was a member of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir for 25 years. He served in the Army from 1969-1976 and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington and Fort Ord in California.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church at 2pm on Sunday October 14, 2018, reception immediately following in Debin Hall at the church.
