In 1962, Larry enlisted in the US Army, where he served with pride until 1965. It was during his stationing in New Jersey that he met Jane, his future bride and lifelong partner.
Following his military service, Larry moved to California, where he became a partner in the family real estate business, Piedmont Construction Company. He was an active member of the California Apartment Owners Association, where he not only participated but also taught classes, generously sharing his extensive knowledge of property management.
Larry had a passion for golf and was a member of Stardust Country Club and Singing Hills Golf Club. His community involvement extended to the United States House of Pacific Relations International Cottages in Balboa Park, where he served from 1984 to 2001.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jane; his brother, Allen; sister-in-law, Ann Foster; daughter, Lisa; son, Steve, and his wife, Amy; and their two grandchildren, Grace and Dylan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your favorite charity or the National Ataxia Foundation (NAF.org). Donations to NAF will support and raise awareness for the rare disease with which Larry’s daughter Lisa is afflicted.
Funeral services will be held at Cypress View Mausoleum on Saturday, July 27, at 11:00 a.m.
