Dr. George Lemus, 87, passed away peacefully on Sept. 23rd, 2015. The most important things in his life were his family and his Roman Catholic faith, with a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. George loved his Alma Mater, University of Texas Longhorns, where he received his Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. He was a professor at San Diego State University and retired after teaching in the Spanish Department for over 31 years. He was an active member of St. Therese Parish in San Diego where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carmen, his 5 children, Aggie (Jack), Sarita (Scott), Henry (Kristin), Bob (Michelle), Bill (Pamela), his 8 grandchildren, Lyndsay (Mike), Andrea, Sofia, Stephanie, Chris, Sam, Ian, Braden & his great-granddaughter, Mikayla, brother Fernando (Dora) & sister Guadalupe (Jim). He is proceeded in death by his father, Leopoldo, mother, Ines, stepmother, Soledad & his brother-in-law, Edmund. "Papa" will be missed by his family who loved him very much.
