Flory was born and raised in Palauig, Zambales, Philippines. She often reminisced of those days, recalling her time spent climbing the mango trees with friends and eating her favorite freshly caught fish. A graduate of Carmel Academy of Palauig, she later received a certificate from Commonwealth College in Virginia Beach and went on to work in a variety of roles before spending two decades in accounting within the health and fitness industry.
As a dedicated Navy wife and mother, Flory's top priority was always to provide for her children and her family back in the Philippines. She was selfless and constantly giving to others, and no one left her home empty-handed or with an empty stomach. Her warm and bright personality charmed everyone she met, from her company's global customers who brought her gifts at their annual conventions, to the many, many 'kumares' and 'Ates' whom she befriended in her local communities.
Flory was a devout Catholic throughout her life. She dedicated her time as a parishioner and prayer group member at the San Lorenzo Spiritual Center in Virginia Beach and Good Shepherd Parish in San Diego. She was an active member of the Legion of Mary, served as a Eucharistic minister, and her faith was unwavering even in the face of her most difficult challenges. A pure soul, she found joy in life's simplest moments; from admiring her beautiful collection of orchids, to cheering on both teams of a sports game, to moments spent dancing and singing along to any and all kinds of music.
Flory is survived by her husband, Renato Del Rosario; her children Joan, Renato Jr., and Christi-Lynn Del Rosario; her grandchildren Jaren and Jocelyn Del Rosario; her sister Estring Macalma (nee Altares); her brothers Sammy and Rene Altares; and fourteen nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Sixto and Gloria Altares, and her sisters Lorena, Aurora, and Baby Altares.
