Eleanor (Mooney) Dunn, 92, of Encinitas, on Monday, August 3. Beloved wife of Edward Dunn, 92, for 72 years and adoring mother of Diane Dunn, and sons Kyle and Brennan Ehrman (Lindsey West), Edward Dunn, Kerrianne Evans (James Evans) and daughter Colleen, Brian Dunn (Ellen Huang) and daughter Gillian Sutter and step-son YingHao Wang, and Christoper Dunn (Robin Barloga) and son Roger. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lillian Mooney and a number of nieces and nephews. Known for her devotion to family and her extraordinary cooking skills, she also held a lifelong dedication to educating her children, who, among them, hold four undergraduate and three graduate degrees. Eleanor Dunn was born in the Bronx borough of New York to Irish immigrants with a father who served in the Irish Republican Army in the establishment of an independent Republic of Ireland. She lived in a number of other cities with her family in New England and the Midwest, before she ultimately moved to Encinitas, California in 2019.
