Wow - such a change from the man I knew at Dartmouth.  So sad to see him gone but somehow we must carry on.  Strength to the family and friends

David and Mackie were a tough team to beat. Racing was his love and he rode my horse phenomenally. 💜

My deepest condolences to all of the Lopez family.  My heart breaks to hear  about David and hope through the grace of God, you can all find comfort and strength.  I never got to know the adult version of David but have just the fondest memories  of the cute little David running around when our families played softball together.  I will always treasure those times our families had together. 

The distance makes it impossible for me to be there with you for services, but know my thoughts and love will be there for all you.  

We watched sweet little David grow up!  David always had a gentle sweet smile and a heart of gold.  He was a fun and busy little boy who was always trying to keep up with Cecilia and Tony…until Renee came along and he discovered his new friend  and playmate.  David loved his siblings, parents, and extended family unconditionally. He always wanted to do the right thing and please everyone.  May you be resting in peace sweet David with your grandparents and may your parents, siblings, nieces and nephews find comfort in  God’s Graces.  In our hearts forever ❤️

  I have so many wonderful memories of times shared between the Salcido and Lopez families.  Time and circumstances have led us in different directions but you have always remained in my heart.  I grieve with you in the tragic loss of David.  He will be missed by all who knew him. I pray God will give you comfort and peace.

I will never forget David and all our memories we made. I was training to be a Professional Horse Jockey and was only 15 years old, I couldn’t drive so David would pick me up every morning at 4:00am and we would both drive to Galway Downs in Temecula for me to get on horses and train. Then at 16 I became a professional jockey and was racing at Del Mar and all over. It was then that David wanted to follow my path to the racetrack and started training the same way I had. He started at my family farm in Descanso and rode my Paint horse named Toby, Once David became a pro we would talk in the jockeys room and he would go on to tell me that till that day the hardest horse to ride ever was Toby and I shared the same sentiment. We both Wrestled for Valhalla HS and then went on to race. It was like having a twin we shared the exact same story and memories he will always have a place in my heart. Love you brother -Mick Ruis
