Carlisle Anthony Gallimore was born on January 24,1933 in Kingston, Jamaica. Carlisle attended classes at College of the West Indies before coming to California in December of 1952 to attend Pacific Union College. To finance his studies, he worked odd jobs on campus, and it was during one of these odd jobs in his senior year that he first saw Beatriz Jordan enter the building with her parents to report for her first year of college. He introduced himself and although they didn’t date at the time, she stayed on his mind.
After graduation he moved on to medical school at Loma Linda University. After his second year at Loma Linda University, he surprised Beatriz by showing up on her doorstep one day. They began dating and married in August of 1957. He graduated from Loma Linda and started his internship at White Memorial Hospital. He finished his residency at Harbor General in Torrance and worked for a year in a private practice before leaving to start his own practice in Torrance, California. He maintained his own practice for over 40 years with his wife Beatriz at his side managing the office for the last 23 years. He loved being a doctor which was evident by the way he treated and knew all his patients, many of whom became family friends. Carlisle had a heart of generosity beyond measure and will be immensely missed by his family and close friends.
