Alice Olive Whitted was born in Dallas, Texas 16 Feb. 1927, but grew up in San Diego, graduating from San Diego High and San Diego State. She was a homemaker and community volunteer. While a student at State, Alice worked part time in the Circulation Dept. of the Union-Tribune. While at State, Alice was President of Epsilon Pi Theta, later Kappa Delta sorority.
In 1950 she married Bob Whitted in St. Francis Chapel in Balboa Park. She served as President of the Jaycee Wives Club, the AAUW branch in El Cajon, Richardson, Tx., and La Mesa. She was President of the Valhalla High School PTA and later of the Board of Directors of Boardwalk Condominium Association. She was a member of La Jolla Presbyterian Church since 1983. Prior to that she was a member of El Cajon and Fletcher Hills Presbyterian Church. While a member of Saratoga Presbyterian Church she served as an Elder.
Once her four children were grown and living elsewhere, she and Bob began to travel to Europe and enjoyed planning and making a trip every year for over 38 years.
She is survived by her four children, Lucy Krieg, Larry Whitted, Margie Tilford and Susan Martinez, and 8 grandchildren, Vanessa Carmean, Monica Carmean, Brian Tilford, Katie Tilford, Sarah Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Luke Martinez and Rachel Martinez.
