It's been a year since you unexpectedly left us Dad.  Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and pray for you.  We all love you and miss you to no end.  It makes me sad to know that I can't ask you for advice or even hear your voice anymore.  I'm so grateful for all of the sacrifices you made so that we could all have a better life.  I pray that your reward in heaven is unsurpassed by anything that you experienced here on earth, and that you are watching over all of us until we are all reunited with you.

I’ll always miss you grandpa. You showed us what hard work looked like. Thank you for driving me around until I was sick. Thank you for showing my daughters how to save a rabbit. You were a man of few words, but the words spoken were wise. Have fun tending to your everlasting and fruitful garden now. See you soon! I love you. 

Everytime id call Grandpa up, he would always tell me the story about how he came over to the San Bernardino house when I was 3 or 4 years old and he yelled out, "Eddy, where are you?" And I replied "I'm over here." He then asked "What are you doing?" And I said "I'm working"  and when he walked around the corner to see what I was doing, I had a box of nails and my dads hammer and I was just going to town pounding nails into a 2x4.  
 whenever I'd call and talk to him, hed ask me what I'm doing and I'd always say that I'm working and he would just start laughing. 

He always got a kick out of that story. That and on The lost World jurassic Park, in the beginning where the parents go looking for the daughter and the mom screams and it clips over the scream to Jeff Goldblum yawning. I always remember him busting up over that. 


Esperanza, please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband.  Both of you were good friends with my family.  I remember going to church with my parents & visiting with you after Mass & at the fiestas.  May Phillip rest in the arms of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Ceci Ramirez (Diaz)

  There was a part of me that imagined you’d be around forever. Sometimes there was no stopping you. You’d always be working on something.  Whether you were in your workshop, building a carport, on the roof, or cruising a grandchild around on your golf cart, you were always up to something.  Even getting under my CRX to help me change my transmission. I have so many memories. 
  Grandpa Boompa helped raise a small tribe of really good people. We could all learn a lot from this man, how he cared for and loved his wife, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 
  I will forever miss all the summers with him, the fishing trips and drives to the hardware store in his old ford while we listened to 50’s rock and roll. The way he would manage the Dodgers from the LayZBoy. If it was up to him every player that made an error would be fired! The chorizo breakfasts and beans cooking on the counter, and the vacations. He was a hard worker and a great family man and we’ll all miss him so much. I love you grandpa. Until I see you again grandpa, Vaya Con Dios.

Grandpa,  I will always remember you taking me around your fruit trees in your backyard while a sat in the wagon.  Your rides were adventurous!   I had so much fun with you when you babysat me and during our family get-togethers.   You taught me so much through your actions towards me, such as how to be kind and how to spoil a grandchild.  You always gave me so much!  I will remember you always....I Love you!

Dad you were a great model of what a husband should be~ kind, unconditionally loving, patient, and always giving.  I will always try my best  to display those same qualities as a husband, father, and grandfather.  

Dad, you were always there helping, teaching, and supporting me in all of my projects.  Most of the things that I can do today are the result of the skills you taught me.  From carpentry to masonry...   Whenever I do things you will always be next to me.  You also showed me what a DAD should be.  So, my children have learned your skills through me.  

Thank you!  Love you!  Missing you! Until our next project together! 

Dad and Mom ~ loving on their great grandchildren!  So much LOVE!

Wow!  I have had the joy to know you for over 40 years.  They have been extremely wonderful years.  So many sweet memories to recall!  I will always cherish your kindness, your jokes, and your smiles.    

The memory I will cherish the most with my dad is when we lived on Grant Street in Yucaipa that day I spent the entire day with him working on the yard taking trash to the dump and having that Father and Son bonding time. Thank you Dad for being there for me when I was sick in the hospital when I almost died I love you dad God be with you always,love son #8 

My papa was my world. He was always there. A lot of my childhood memories was with him and my grandma. One day when I’m trying to find my soulmate i hope he is like my papa. Loving, caring, passionate, independent, strong, creative and someone who will never give up on family. I miss when I was little and he always made sure I had pretty close, new shoes; and how he made me breakfast every morning before school. I’m happy to have spent 20 years growing up with him. Now he’s my guardian angel. 

Grandma and grandpa would take us to Mexico. When we went to Puerto Vallarta, I remember walking out of the airplane, down the stairs in the outside terminal and grandpa’s glasses fogged up instantly. Amanda and I started laughing so hard. He’d watch us in the pool at the resort and he’d eat chili’s by themselves out of the jar. He’d sweat and he’d wipe his forehead with his handkerchief. He said it was good!!! 

Grandpa welcomed me into the family with his whole heart, and even though I was not blood he never made me feel differently.  He was the grandfather I never had and always longed for as both of my grandfathers passed while I was very young.  

My fondest memories are when he would pick me up from kindergarten and sit and watch Home Alone with me for the 400th time, never complaining, and laughing along with me; and when I proudly brought over my electric motorcycle then encouraged him to ride it around the house a few times!  

I love you and miss you so much!

My father in law was truly a special person. He led by example and always treated me like his son. His laugh was addicting. I tried to make him laugh as much as I could. Even if it was at the expense of my wife. I always enjoyed looking in his workshop. He had a tool for everything and if he didn't he would make one.  My saying now is "what would pop do".

When I was young I grew up with the Manzano family. I was at their house so often Mr. & Mrs. Manzano started calling me number 9 son. Mr. Manzano was always very kind and generous to me. I remember when we were building our house I ask him if he would come up and put a cement driveway in for us, he was already retired but he said sure. He showed up early and worked hard all day long, and at the end of the day when the job was done I ask him how much do we owe you, he said just the smile on your face is all the pay I need. That is just one of many memories I have of him. He was a wonderful man and definitely a great influence in my life.

You and your family welcomed Bekah and I into your lives 22 years ago and we have been forever blessed.  I am honored to have had two amazing fathers … my natural father for my first 29 years, and you for the past 22.  You have been such a wonderful father to me and grandfather to Bekah!  I admire that you have always led by example in your devotion to your wife, your children and to God, and can this in your children.  I hope that you are able to meet my ‘first’ dad in heaven; until I see you both again you will remain in my heart always.

I remember Phil as a person who often lent a helping hand be it to a neighbor, friend or family. He was an excellent gardener who enjoyed being outdoors, and often shared his fruits -- not only from the garden, but with his expertise in working cement. He was a man very proud of his family, and often shared pictures and stories of his 7 sons and his daughter. I was amazed at his disciple in not eating food that was not conducive to his health. There was no fudging with him. In our last visit with him and Marie, Phil shared his concern for his neighbors' wellbeing who were not doing well. He was very thoughtful and kind, always laughing. My life was enriched by knowing him.

Phil and Marie lived across the street from our family home in Rialto while we were growing up. Being a brick mason, Phil built our backyard swimming pool, much to our delight. We were so excited! A funny story my brother Lee shared with me: Our dad wanted to pave over the front yard area with concrete. One day, he noticed a cement truck doing some work in the neighborhood, and convinced the men to take whatever load was left over and dump it in our front yard. Well... dad waited too long to spread it out, and it began to harden. When poor Phil got home -- dead tired -- from work, he noticed this mound of concrete in his neighbor's yard! I guess he felt sorry for my dad's ignorance, and came over to help him level it out the best he could.   On a more serious note, Phil was there to come to Dad's aid one night when he was attacked in his home. I will forever be grateful to him for that.

My grandpa was a very important role model to his grandchildren. He built character in us through living by example. He was constantly working in the yard and on the house. He was always leaving things better than the way he found them. When family would walk through his door, his smile would light up the room. He taught us to enjoy the simple things at home with family. He will continue to live within me as he always has, though my creativity and determination to leave things better than the way I found them. 

Thank you for sharing your family with me, always including and supporting us with love and prayers. We will always live by your example and teach our family the values you have shown us. Love you always 

Dad was a master of all trades, back in 1980 something, I had a broken cymbal stand and asked him if he could fix it. Dad took it out back to his work shop and welded it back together good as new. I miss and love you everyday pop. 

It was over sixty five years ago I first met the man who had married my cousin. He was a man who a person immediately knew they wanted him in their lives.  It was because of him, that I too, wanted to join the military.  I was in Jr. High at that time and from that time on, I he was someone I would respect more and more as time passed.  He was one of the men who I emulated as the years passed.  His physical being resides close to my father. God bless him.  Your cousin Victor and family.

I'm at a loss for words everytime I think of you and I tear up.  You came from humble beginnings and grew to become a loving husband and wonderful father.  You were the hardest working person that I ever knew.   You taught me to appreciate the simple things in life.  You pushed me to strive to be the best so that I could be successful.  You were a man of faith and instilled those values in me.  I hope that I met your expectations and was worthy of being your son.  Although your departure from this life was unexpected and left a void, I have faith that we will meet again in the next life.  Thank you for the mountain of memories that you left behind whether it was camping or vacations in Mexico.  Those memories will forever be etched in my memory.  Rest in power with the angels and saints in paradise.

My deepest condolences to the family on the loss of your father. He was a very hard working man . He laid cement for my parents when they built their home . May God give you the strength at this time to pass through this part of life . My uncle was in your parents wedding Ramon Montecino , Rebecca his daughter was in school with María Elena , in Guadalupe. I was in school with David . Sincerely Rudy Guzman.

 3 years ago I threw a surprise 90th birthday party for you. You were all smiles and so happy. God truly blessed me with the greatest gift having you as my father. I will forever hold the great memories in my heart

Growing up, dad always took us camping. 
He taught us appreciation for the outdoors.
So when Scott and I met, I found that he loved the outdoors just as much, if not more.  We've been camping and fishing ever since. Every time I hooked a big one, I sent a picture to Robert. Here, show dad my fish! He always enjoyed seeing pictures of the fish caught.
And now,  I have a special appreciation for the sunrise. I grab my cup of coffee, go outside and look up to the sky. Good morning pop! I miss you so much. I love you. Your hija loves you  


I wish I would have told you how much I love you more often.  You were the best Dad any son  could ever have had. I talk to you every day and miss you so much. Your son, #3
