  My friend Norm, you were my shoulder to lean on when things were at their worst, I always thought you were so special, now I see that many people thought so too, you touched many lives and will always be loved, missed and remembered.

MY FRIEND NORM
I met Norm like twelve years ago. I love and respected him for being a Fireman and the love he showed to kids, especially foster kids.Norm always had the right thing to say to lift you up to encourage you. He was just a nice Gentleman, when we had a chance to talk you always left feeling good that you had a friend like Norm. Sad that he was called away to heaven so soon , but I know that in heaven he would not want to return here.I just thank the Lord that I had a friend like Norm. we will miss him but I know beyond a shadow of a dought that I will see my friend again in a new Body that don"t suffer no more.I only wish that there were more  gentlemen like Norm. we will miss him but will treasure the good memories we had with him. He was a great Man.

Condolences to Norm's family and friends.  Although I didn't work side by side with Norm like his fellow firefighters did, I did know Norm from work at the City of San Bernardino Fire Department. Our encounters during his crew's stops at the Fire Shop, or when I would see him at one of the fire stations, were brief, but it didn't take long being around Norm to know that he was a good guy, and quite the scholar. He left us too young, too soon. Rest in Peace Norm.

Norm was a great friend and colleague.
I'll miss his wit and the laughter he gave to all.

Farewell to a Friend
A farewell to a Friend, Buddy and a Brother, Norman Walters was part of my family. He and I became friends about 30 years ago, when we went to work for Courtesy Ambulance together. He was my partner in crime, we went everywhere even on days off. He was there when my Daughter and youngest son were born and was at every birthday and holiday. He treated my children like his own, he was like an uncle to them. He was most funny and educated person I ever met. I remember one day we were at Sears in the basement while I was washing my hands he was acting like Arnold Schwarzenegger in front of the role of mirrors posing like a muscle man, at that time Norman only weighted about 148 at the most he was tall and skinny, well what Norman did not know that there was a man in one of the stalls looking at him through the crack in the door who could not stop laughing, the stories he told my children, like how knocked out Mike Tyson and how he made him beg for mercy and many other stories. I knew that if I called him and did not answer he was involved in studying for something, he always was studying because he never wanted to be wrong while taking care of a patient or studying for a test, I guess what I'm trying to say in he was the only person that Aced the Paramedic Program and was a very good RN, in fact he should have been a Doctor. 
He was the most loving and caring man I had ever met, and if you ever had a problem he would try to research and find the answer for you and if it took 5 hours to explain it, we were on the phone till he was done with everything he had found on the subject. My son Tony would have the most interesting discussions I ever heard on math and world problems, but now he is gone and I will never find a friend like him again.

To the Family and Friends of Norm, I have been blessed and honored to have known such a caring person in my life. As many,we spent hours on the phone and I enjoyed hearing his advice and knowledge on many subjects.  Of course we agreed on a lot! He was one of a kind and will be missed horribly. I hope we can all rest knowing he is in Gods hands and resting peacefully as he truly was one of God's ANGELS! His devotion to helping people to find answers that doctors could not give. With my deepest sympathy, God be with all who suffer this horrible illness of CANCER. I pray we find a cure! Loving memories....

To Norman Edward Walter the best friend I could have. I hope he's loved in heaven as much as he was loved here.

Sister Irma Walters and family, we send our heartfelt sympathy to you during your hour of bereavement. We know your hearts are heavy, but do not weep as one who has no hope. Norman is now at rest with our Lord and Savior, his earthly journey has ended. He has left many memories for all to cherish. It is clear that he was/is loved and that he allowed the Lord to use him while here on earth . . . will your memories be as great as his? Heaven is rejoicing because another soul has gone on to be with the Lord.

Norm, the smile and the very interesting conversations would have to be my fondest memory.  Always willing to discuss/debate and educate on such an eclectic array of subjects.   The variety of conversations we had still resonate in my mind, especially during one of your stints at Station 11 before I left for 4's.  A truly humble man that obviously touched many people. I look forward to finishing our discussions when we will have no time constraints. Until we meet again.....

To The family and friends of Norman.  In times like this-words cannot express our deepest sorrow, but one thing we do know that death has no sting, for it has been caught up in victory. To God be the Glory for the great things he is doing, has done continues to do and has promised to do with us, to us, and for us-In Jesus name!

Norm, it was an honor and a great privilege knowing you and running calls with you. I never saw you without a smile on your face. That smile and cool demeanor you have was contagious even on the typical 2am SBDO medical aid.  It made me able to deal better with the call.  You taught me that no matter the time or the call that we needed to have compassion for those in need. You will be missed but not forgotten!!  My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

You were such a beautiful person. Your smile and laughter was infections and your words were always so sincere. I remember giving you what I thought would be a quick call regarding your payroll check and we ended up talking for two and a half hours. What a blessing that was. It was a true pleasure for me to have been stationed with you at 11's for your final year on the job and I count myself blessed to call you a friend.
  
I want to thank you for the hours we spent discussing, debating and reflecting on the issues we felt to be important.  It was once said by someone a lot smarter than me that "I dont need a friend that changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better".  Norm you were that friend to many of us that knew you and we are all better off for it.

Norm, I always enjoyed our talks, usually something odd, like who was the best heavy metal guitar player. Although you were mostly quiet and reserved, unlike most of the guys on the dept., everyone respected your abilities and work ethics. God bless you and your family. Rest in peace my friend.

Norm, you were a kind and generous man. I will always remember going to Mexico with you and family. I know Billy and Teresa will always treasure the group picture we took and hung on their wall of special photos. You will be missed and heaven is blessed.

Thank you for being a great firefighter, brother and friend.  You consistently amazed me with your medical knowledge, patient care and treatment skills. You motivated me to be a better paramedic!  Your laugh was infectious, usually causing all who worked along side of you to do so with a smile on their face.  

I enjoyed our talks about stocks/bonds/mutual funds. You taught me how to invest in the stock market and what to watch out for.  Without your advise my childrens college funds would not be what they are today... for that, I thank you!

Stormin Normin.... Thank you for being so kind, gracious, loving, and funny. You are the first Firefighter I worked with at the San Bernardino City Fire Department. We had a good run at Station 226. I will never forget our talks on the way back from all of the medical aids. You were always asking me what the differential diagnosis was for each patient. I would always tell you it was an A.C.T., POV, AMA all the way.... You never accepted that answer and made me come up with a real answer. For that I thank you. Your smile and laugh were always so contagious. By the end of our shift together my checks would be so sore from laughing so hard.  I guess I should have followed your training and advise and became a day trader... Oh well.... Thanks for the impact on my life and so many others... You will be truly missed brother!

Norman words can't describe how amazing of a friend you were to me. I'm blessed and greatful to have met  you. I will never forget all of our deep conversations we had at station 3. I will never forget how kind and thoughful you were to my daughter Madison. Madison would always be excited to see you and always ask " IS NORMY GOING TO BE AT THE STATION?" 
The time we spent with you at station 3 I always felt I was constantly learning from you. 
Watching the UFC fights with you was always enjoyable , you always knew all the stats and weaknesses of all the fighter and would predict who would win that night (  You were right most of the night).  

I know if you were still here with us, you would continue to share your beautiful soul with others. God is prepared to have you in his Kingdom. I love you very much  Buddy and I will always have a special place in my heart for you. I read some of your friends comments in this page and you also spoke to me in my dreams. Thank you so much for being my friend I will always celebrate you !!!!

Hi Normie it's Boo I just want to say I love you so so so so much,and that I miss you.  you helped soooo many people throughout your life you helped me,Mommy's Daddy,Mommy, Reynette,Alina just sooo many people.I feel that your time wasn't over & that you are needed here. You helped me with Kumon, school,piano,all my science projects,my jogathons,You bought me my Nintendo,Wii,and games.I miss you and I will never forget you love you always boo.<3

Norman I don't know where to start. I met you almost 22 years ago. You lived with me over 10 of those years. We have done so much together. Three times to Hawaii, drove across country. Camped in Montana, Utah, south and North Dakota. Went to Disney world in Florida. We bought horses together and rode in evenings.We went to Yosemite at least once a year and slept under the water falls, til we got kicked out by the rangers. I have so many memory's that my head is exploding and my heart is breaking. I remember when I got Matthew and you helped me with him. He was so tiny and you were so sweet.He grew to love you and called you dad. You called him Boo and did so much with him. Helped him with home work, took him to museums, taught him how to play the piano, went to all his school functions,so so so much more. Then the foster kids I had almost 43 you gave each one $50.00 at each Christmas and birthdays. They loved you! You helped my dad when he was dying, you helped my mom, my siblings, my friends. You helped so many people live that not any one knows really what kind of a man you really were. I miss you so much. I don't want to believe that you are gone. I cry just to hear your voice and touch your hand again.  I miss you so much! I know you are Matthews and my guardian angel.You are the one thing in my life that made sense. I will never forget you never.The last thing you told me was I fixed every one but it was to late to fix me. Matthew said he sees you in his sleep and you told him that God gives every one a time to be born and a time to die. He said Normy's time was up mom, stop crying you will see him again. I love you Norman Walters!!!
