As a young child Betty excelled at dancing. By the age of 16 she left home with a traveling dance group performing across the United States and Canada. World War II interrupted Betty’s dancing career and at age 20 she found herself living in Hollywood, California working in the war effort as a welder. It was there that she met the love of her life, Bob Richardson who she married six months later. Betty and Bob settled in San Bernardino, California where they raised their two children Pam and Chuck. Betty continued to live in the same home that she and Bob purchased in 1953 until her recent final illness and passing.
Betty excelled as a wife and a mother - two jobs that she loved. When her children were grown and out of the house she loved to travel with Bob in their motorhome across the United States. Betty never lost her passion for dancing. She loved to participate in line dancing groups and was a member of the “Perris Hill Seniors “dance group in San Bernardino that regularly entertained residents at assisted living homes and convalescent hospitals.
Betty was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran church while situated in Colton California and then later after the church was moved to its new and present facility in San Bernardino. She was part of the original group that raised funds with the construction of the new church, was a Sunday school teacher, prayer group leader and worked in the church business office.
Betty was a kind and gentle soul, intelligent, well-read, loving, and talented. Her passing will leave a huge void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
