James Andy Aspeotis, 93, passed away on April 1, 2014. He was born on March 15, 1921 in Hannibal Missouri to Maria and Andrew Aspeotis. James grew up in Quincy Illinois with his 3 brothers and 4 sisters. After serving in the U.S. Army for 3 ½ years during WWII he relocated to California. He worked as a supervisor for 18 years at Loud’s Airplane Machine Shop in Pomona and later as a Teamster on the Alaskan pipeline in Alaska. He also invested in real estate for over 60 years.
He was an active member of the San Bernardino’s Elks Lodge #836 and the Del Rosa United Methodist church. He loved dancing, playing golf and going to the casino to play Texas Hold’Em poker. He traveled to many foreign countries, traveled to Alaska 11 times and also belonged to an RV club. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary in 1969 (25 years) and his second wife Ruby in 2012 (35 years). He is survived by his three daughters; Maria (Dennis) Thomas, Andrea Walker, Annette Aspeotis (A.J.) and grandson, Robert Walker II; his sister, Trula Jameson of Texas and brother, Pete Aspeotis of Alaska. Services are Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at Mt. View Mortuary and Cemetery Chapel, 570 E. Highland Ave, San Bernardino CA 92404.
