Iva T Blackwell

Iva T. Blackwell, born in Richfort, Vermont on 01/28/1918 passed away 05/10/2019 in San Bernardino, CA of heart failure. Retired Registered Nurse practiced for 40+ years in Vermont, New York, Key West Florida, Louisville Kentucky, Saint Bernardine’s Hospital, Community Hospital and Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino where she lived for 57 years.

Survived by two daughters Ivy L. Humphrey and husband Alex of Placitas, New Mexico, Chloris Hinrichs and husband Jeffrey of Laguna Hills, CA, grandson Michael J. Barrett and wife Anna of Riverside, CA, granddaughter Catherene L. Sanders, husband John and great grandson Ethan J. Sanders of Indiana.

Second oldest of 4 children, her two sisters and one brother preceded her into rest. She sewed all her own and daughter’s clothes and crocheted and knitted into her 80s.

She was very active in St. John’s Episcopal Church for 56 years. She baked pies to raise money, ran coffee hour and always helped others.

Memorial service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1407 N. Arrowhead Ave, San Bernardino on June 22nd, 2019 at 2:00pm.
