ANGIE A. MENDOZA Angie Aldama Mendoza passed away at Kaiser Hospital, Fontana, on June 16, 2011, at the age of 93. Angie was born on September 8, 1917, in Pirtleville, Arizona, to Jose and Alvina Aldama. Her family moved to Victorville, CA, where she attended elementary school. In her teen years, the family moved to San Bernardino, where she continued her education at Sturges Jr. High and San Bernardino High School. She lived in San Bernardino for 81 years. In 1944, Angie met the love of her life - Lalo Mendoza, and they were married on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1945. Angie's beloved husband, Lalo, passed away 5 months ago, just 2 months shy of their 66th wedding anniversary. Angie was a lady with a great sense of humor, always smiling and happy, and deeply devoted to her faith, her family, and friends. During her adult life she worked at Norton AFB, Mitla Cafe, and her last job was with the University of Riverside Agricultural Extension. At every election she would always work as a clerk at the polling place. She would also volunteer at Mary's Mercy Center, and was active at her parish church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was a member of Damas de Caridad; and, together with her husband deeply involved with Cursillo and Marriage Encounter. Angie was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Lalo; brothers, Tom, Larry, and Philip, and her sister, Connie Vidabel. Angie is survived by her seven children, Rachel Clark and her husband, Ken, of San Bernardino, Cecilia Vasquez and her husband, Guadalupe, of Redlands, David Mendoza and his wife, Dianne, of Loma Linda, Martha Sack and her husband, Tim, of San Bernardino, Robert Mendoza and his wife, Cindy, of Colton, Danny Mendoza, and his wife, Susan, of Highland, Kathy Jorge and her husband, David, of Grand Cayman Island; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Lou Limon of Sacramento, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews who enjoyed spending time with their aunt. The family gratefully acknowledges Dan Brazeau, Jana Herrera Schweppe and the marvelous staff at the Villas of San Bernardino for the extraordinary and compassionate care given to Angie and Lalo during the last three years of their lives. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 5 - 7 P.M., followed by the Rosary at 7 P.M. at Mt. View Mortuary, 570 East Highland Avenue, San Bernardino. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, June 24, 2011, at 11 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1430 West 5th Street, San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
