Roberto Gil

Roberto was a very hard working man. His tenacity and hard work was apparent until the end. When Roberto gave his life over to Jesus, he worked hard in having everyone know that love. He began spreading the word of God. In his pursuit to do so, he traveled through Mexico and Texas giving to the less fortunate and providing them with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. He enjoyed not only serving God, but also the travel itself. He was never in one place very long. His love of movies was the one thing he always found time for when he wasn't reading his bible. It was the one distraction he allowed himself; that and eating.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Maria Hortencia Gil; his children, Dahlia Flores, Gilberto Gil, Veronica Montalvo, Lupita Elizondo, Javier Gil, Luis Carlos Gil, Natalia Rosales, Maria Gil, and Adriana Gil. He also leaves his 28 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Hilaria Gil; his great granddaughter, Briseis Reign Harrelson, his great granddaughter, Natasha Monique Arceneaux, and his grandson, Alexander Joseph Flores.

A Visitation for Roberto will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, TX. A Chapel Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Rio Hondo Community Cemetery, 420 Madero Ave, Rio Hondo, TX 78583.
