Jose C. Ponce, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 75, surrounded by family and loved ones. Jose was born on September 20, 1949. For 35 years, he worked as a shrimper, a job that connected him to the waters he cherished. His life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and a deep love for the simple pleasures of life. Jose was especially fond of spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. Whether it was sharing stories, playing games, or simply enjoying each other's company, he was happiest surrounded by his family. His love for his grandchildren will forever be remembered as one of the highlights of his life. Jose had a zest for life and a deep appreciation for good food and good company. He loved going out to eat with his friend Geronimo Ramirez (his good friend), Gerry thank you for everything you did for our dad, we are forever grateful. His warm spirit, and generous heart made him a cherished companion to all who knew him. Jose's memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jose is survived by his wife, Josefina Ponce; his children; Juan G Ponce; Luz Ponce; and Jesus Ponce; his sister Maria Del Socorro C Ponce; his grandkids; Juan G Ponce Jr, Jasmine L Ponce, Jose Ponce, Christian A. Ortega, Christopher J Ponce, Carlos G. Ponce, Cesar L Ponce, Cassandra N. Ponce and Caleb O. Ponce.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents; Jesus Cervantes and Nicolasa Ponce; his siblings; Isabel Ponce Mares; Antonio Ponce; Refugio C Ponce and Clara Bertha C Ponce.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, with a Rosary Service at 7 PM.
