Vincent Delano Coy was born April 30, 1933 in San Antonio, TX, the son of William Santos and Elizabeth Esther Ball Coy, and died on June 2, 2013, after a brief illness, in San Antonio, TX. Vincent was the youngest of nine children. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue Buffington Coy; son, Ryan Matthew Coy; granddaughters, Taylor, Victoria and Taralyn; sister, Mary Louise Bulloch; mother-in-law, Mary Louise Buffington, all of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law, Charles R. Buffington and family of Houston, TX. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and beloved friends, Vincent spent four years in Catholic Seminary studying for the priesthood before changing direction and enlisting in the U.S. Army. He earned a degree in Business from Texas State University, and eventually retired as a proud civil servant. Vincent loved his family and being with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a kind man and a God serving man, sorely missed by all. Rest in peace, dear one. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
