Eddie Burwell was born September 10, 1955 in Enid, Oklahoma to Thomas and Doris Burwell. His father was career Air Force and growing up as an Air Force brat he attended schools in Virginia, Alaska and Texas. After high school he did a short tour in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged.
Eddie’s early career was a long haul truck driver which allowed him to see much of the country. His driving for the carnival industry led to the work that he ultimately came to love – working the midway at carnivals. He lost his battle with cancer on August 14, 2010 with much of his family surrounding him.
Eddie is survived by his parents, his siblings Gloria Sanderson, John Burwell, and Gayle Goldsmith, his former spouse Diane Burwell and their children, Corbin Burwell and Ryan Burwell, daughter-in-law Stacy Dominiack-Burwell, grandchildren Dayde, Olyvia and Amara, his son Jamie Burwell, numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved Mary Peterson who was by his bedside until the end.
Eddie will be remembered for his sense of humor, his rebel spirit and his joy of life.
