Teddy Paul Wallace MD, born February 5, 1929 in Abilene, Texas, went home to his Savior on May 27, 2018 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Lura (Bennett) Wallace. Teddy is survived by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, Palmer June (Anderson) Wallace. Teddy was born into an early Texas ranching family but chose to follow his pioneering great grandfather’s footsteps and became a physician and later, a psychiatrist. He attended Trinity University and the University of Texas Medical School. Teddy and Palmer June first met at Lubbock High School. After starting college, he joined the Air Force and they were married on October 22, 1950. Together they devoted their lives to family and the care of others. After practicing medicine and psychiatry in Amarillo and Houston, Teddy and Palmer June retired near Sisterdale. He appreciated his generous neighbors at Cypress Bend and was grateful for the Biblical teaching and loving fellowship at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Boerne. Teddy shared his love of outdoors, boating, flying and woodworking with his family, building a mountain cabin at the age of eighty for future generations to enjoy. While there are many professional and personal accomplishments that could be mentioned regarding Teddy’s life, what he wanted most to be remembered for was his desire to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. His love for Christ and strength of heart will carry forward in his children: Linda Calhoun (Robert), Paula Cairns (Steve), Teddy Paul Wallace Jr. (Susan), Stephen Wallace (Debra) and Larry Wallace (Beth). Teddy was cherished by his thirteen grandchildren: Melody Zarro (Mike), Sarah Kelsey (Joshua), Elizabeth Goedecke (Craig), Jennie Smith (Steve), Benjamin Cairns, Michael Cairns, Stephanie Mumbower (Alan), Katherine Wallace, Sarah Putt (Taylor), Teddy Wallace III, William Wallace, Chloe Wallace and Thomas Wallace (Elizabeth). Teddy regaled his thirteen great grandchildren with stories of life on a Texas ranch and the early days of the Bennett family, raising horses, rodeos and his boyhood adventures. Those great grandchildren are: Tony Zarro, Brennan Zarro, Gabriella Zarro, Dominic Zarro, Joshua Kelsey Jr, Jonathan Kelsey, Paul “Cal” Goedecke, Greta Mae Goedecke, Anastasia Smith, Bennett Smith, Averie Cairns, Hailey Cairns, Molly Mumbower and Mason Mumbower. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas.
