Sylvia Jean Valadez

Sylvia Jean Valadez is the daughter of Felicia Ann Valadez. She had three kiddos during her lifetime (Gabriel, Lillie, and Isabella). She is the sister of Cynthia and Audrey and the cousin of Nathan, Tyson, and Daniel.

“Syl” was a real one; she was very much herself and never “fake.” She said what she thought and you knew how she felt. Her ability to read people was uncanny. She loved deeply and protected her people without holding back. She was a loyal and reliable person.

One of her most impressive qualities is that she was brave! She put herself out there and took risks outside of her comfort zone time and time again in her life. When life got hard, she would always pick herself up and try again, always.

“Silvie” was an artist as well. From the time she was little, her makeup game was on point. She also loved to doodle cute cupcakes and cartoons. 90s music and Selena music were lifetime faves of hers.

She was also funny and had a sarcastic sense of humor. She was quick to create unique nicknames of people and things, it was just a thing she did that we enjoyed. Her individualized vocabulary usually grew on others (you could call her a trend-setter). Often, she sent and/or posted funny gifs and memes to those in her life and on social media.

Syl liked to have a good time and to be with good company. Being a Mom was Everything to her! She did everything in her life, even up until the end, for her kids. She loved being a Mom and her kids loved her incredibly much :’)

Sylvia will be greatly missed. We know she is still with us and we are so grateful for the blessing to have been a part of each other’s lives ♡

A rosary for Sylvia will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen, 1710 Clower Street, San Antonio, TX 78201, followed by a funeral mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
