Survived by:

Children- Christina Marple and husband Jerry, James Maxey and wife Jeanette, Dolsie McDonald and husband Dan, Justin Maxey and wife Danielle, Jonathan Maxey.

Companion: Vernon “Bubba” Wear Jr.

Siblings- Dale Tampke and wife Molly, Bob Childs and wife Carol, Ginger Stackhouse.

As well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Granddaughter- Julie Maxey

Sue was a light to any she touched. A friend to those who needed a friend and a mother to those who needed a mother. She lived in many parts of the world while married to her husband, Johnny, but spent most of her time in San Antonio, Texas. She spent her adult life caring for others. First as a Respiratory Therapist in the Baptist Health System for nearly 40 years and, after retiring, she went on to care for children at the Eisenhauer Rd. Baptist School. She also volunteered much of her time to her church.

Her pride and joy were her family. She would tell anyone who would listen how proud she was of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She said, I love you, in many ways but her most prolific method was through food. She loved to fish, garden and care for her dogs, Luke, and Leia. She will be missed by all who knew her but rests now in the arms of her Savior.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 11-12:00 pm at Freedom Hill Church; 3950 Eisenhauer Rd.; San Antonio, TX 78218. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the Church. Burial will be on Tuesday, April 23rd at 2:00 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
