Dr. Sharon Anne Cole

Dr. Sharon Stewart Cole passed away at the age of 70, April 20, 2017, in San Antonio TX. Sharon was born May 17, 1946 in Portland, OR to Donna Smith. Shortly after her birth Elmer Smith became her loving step father. Sharon grew up in Enid, OK where she attended Enid High School and went on to the University of Oklahoma where she received her bachelors in education. Sharon then attended Oklahoma State University where she received her masters in business administration. Later Sharon attended Capella University and received her PHD in Philosophy of Education.

Sharon met and married David Cole, out of that union is one son; Michael Cole. Sharon retired from the Rail Road Research Foundation in Washington, DC where she was Director of Grants Administration.

Preceded Sharon in death is her father, Elmer Smith, a sister Gloria Smith, and grandparents. Left to mourn her passing is her beloved son Michael Cole, Houston, TX, Mother Donna Smith, Aurora, CO, Brother Billy Patterson (Marry Anne) Oahu, HI, Brother Norwin Smith (Geri) Belton, MD. Brother Dennis Smith (Angela) Hampton, VA and sister Denise Smith, Aurora, CO. She also leaves to mourn her a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at The True Vine Baptist Church, 435 S. Ellison Drive San Antonio, Texas 78245 with a celebration of life at 11:00 am with Pastor Jesse L. Grice officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 9:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
