Robert James Flores, 59, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 19, 1957 to Rufino and Victoria Flores. As a teenager Robert went to Mexico City to play in an All-Star baseball game and later became a CYO coach at Prince of Peace. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, competitive target shooter and love to travel in his RV. Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Victoria and brother, Mario Flores. He is survived by his father Rufino Flores (Connie), his beloved wife of 38 years, Patricia Proa-Flores; sons, Christopher Flores (Nestle) and Alexander Flores; granddaughter, Elena Flores; future grandson, Liam James Flores; brothers, Oscar Flores (Margaret) and Rick Flores (Nena); sister, Anna Bergara (Lee); niece, Martie Flores (Karen); nephew, Oscar Flores II (Bridget), and many other nieces and nephews. Robert has been a fighter since 2008 and he never complained about any pain. His family would like to thank him for never giving up and the love that he showed each of them. The family will be receiving guests at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, on Thursday, September 15th beginning at 5:00pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm that night. The funeral service will be on Friday, September 16th at 10:00am in the chapel at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
