

Robert Wesley Finical passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on October 27, 1936, in Tarkio, Missouri, he lived a life defined by service, honor, and quiet strength.
Robert dedicated his career to the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. His service took him across the world, including deployment to Vietnam and participation in multiple classified missions. With unwavering duty and courage, he embodied the values of integrity and sacrifice.
Beyond his military career, Robert was known for his fairness and compassion. Affectionately called "Pawpaw," he was a steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him. His kindness, humor, and sometimes crass attitude resonated deeply with family and friends alike, leaving an enduring imprint on their hearts.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gerri Finical. He is survived by his brother Bill Finical and sister Linda Finical Huffman; granddaughter Sarah Phillips and her husband Pablo Burrull; Grandson Justin Romberger; grandson Ryan Finical and his family, beloved great-grandchildren Sailor and Spencer, and numerous others who his life intertwined with.
His memory will live on through the countless stories shared by those who loved him. May his legacy of kindness and fairness continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 9:15 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas.
