Robbie Hart Meehan, 88, passed away June 25, 2012. Robbie was born on June 16, 1924 in Puryear, TN and moved to Avon Park, FL when she was 2 years old. Robbie enjoyed playing sports throughout her youth and keeping up with her studies. Robbie went on to study Finance with the US Army Air Core, it was this destiny she met her loving husband, a young flight officer, 20 years later in Boca Raton, FL. Robbie and Maj. Gerald (USAF Ret.) spent 24 loving years together traveling the world on many military adventures; she was the perfect military wife. Robbie and Gerald were best friends and the loves of each other’s lives for 64 beautiful years. Robbie volunteered at many Air Force hospitals as a Gray Lady, Boy Scouts troops, Catholic Schools, and was active at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, as a Eucharistic Minister and Alter Society member. She also enjoyed helping children with special needs as a member of Sultanas De Bexar Society #56. Robbie loved playing golf with the girls out at Lackland AFB and gardening. Robbie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion (Harvey) and Lizzie Hart; son, Charles Michael Meehan; and brother Charles Milburn Hart. Robbie was survived by her loving husband Maj. Gerald F. Meehan (USAF Ret.); son, Thomas G. Meehan and wife Ann; grandchildren Michele A. Meehan, Kenneth T. Meehan, and Mallory L. Meehan; nieces, Linda McKenzie and husband Curt, Charlene Neidermayer and husband George, and Kathy Olson and husband Ken; nephew, John Meehan and wife Pam; several great nieces and nephews, adopted children and grandchildren, and loving friends. The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and various hospital and hospice staff that cared for Robbie. Robbie, my love, may you fly with angels and rest in peace with God, we will see you soon—all my love, GF. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
