Richard “Rick” Swint, age 65, of San Antonio, TX went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2015 after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer. Rick is survived by Pam, his wife of 20 years, his two sons Aaron “AJ” of Denver, CO and Dustin of Austin, TX and also two brothers, Jack and Mark. His parents Edward and Elizabeth Swint preceded him in death.
Rick was born in Sandusky, OH and attended Calvert High School in Tiffin, OH. He received his Associates degree at Terra Tech in Fremont, OH and his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston, Houston, TX.
Prior to Rick’s retirement seven years ago, his engineering career allowed him to live and travel throughout the world. Rick was an adventurer and had the incredible opportunity to touch the lives of many people spanning the globe. His stories of travel were something out of a storybook and he will always be remembered as a man who embraced life. He enjoyed music, being a volunteer firefighter, snow skiing, scuba diving, camping and hiking.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 14th from 2PM to 4PM at the Voigt Center, 701 El Portal, Hollywood Park, TX. In lieu of flowers, Rick requested that you help others that may have a need or as some say “pay it forward”. Visit www.sunsetnorthfuneralhome.com for tributes.
