Richard Hector Rodriguez

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; Marcelo Rodriguez and Adelina Mireles Rodriguez and his brothers; Francisco Rodriguez and George D. Rodriguez and is survived by his sister; Mary E. Smith, brother-in-law; Robert J. Smith, nephews; Robert J. Smith, Jr. and Charles D. Smith, grandnephew; Marcelo Smith and special friends John Middlestorb, The Fogels Family and The Lockwood Family.

Richard graduated with the 1965 class of General Douglas MacArther High School and received his Bachelor's of Science in Education in 1971 from Texas State University and then went on to earn a Master's of Science in Education in 1977 from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Richard worked for the Crystal City Independent School District from September 1971 through May of 1974 and taught special education with the South San Antonio Independent School District from August 1974 until May 1974. After twenty years of proud dedication to the San Antonio School District, Richard retired in 1999.

A visitation for Richard will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will follow Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Helena's Catholic Church, 14714 Edgemont St., San Antonio, Texas. A graveside service will occur Monday, November 13, 2017 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd., San Antonio, Texas.
