Ricardo Garcia (The Rock) went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2014 at the age of 70. He is preceded in death by parents Jose and Trinidad Flores; father and mother-in-law, Elias and Aurora Regalado. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of 45years Aurora Garcia; children, Cynthia Lopez (David), Ricardo Reyes (Maria) and Debra Ann Garcia; grandchildren, Erica, Rick Jr., Brittany, David, Nathan, John, Brianna, Fernando and Andrea; great-grandchildren Daniel and Julian; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Elias Regalado Jr. (Rachel); brother and sisters, Ernest Flores, Rosemary Corpus, Diane Martinez and Joann Mora; numerous nieces and nephews. He was loving husband, father and grandfather who went above and beyond for his family. Mr. Garcia was a proud graduate of Edgewood High School Class of 1964. He was an All Star in football and made All State in basketball and track. Mr. Garcia was chosen to be a professional basketball player in Mexico. Served 2 years in US Army as Military Police continuing to serve his country in the US Army Reserves for 25 years. Active parishioner at St. John Berchmans as Athletic Director of CYO, member of the Knights of Columbus and ACTS member of St. John Berchmans, San Juan De Los Lagos and St. Leonards. Proud Member of VFW Post 1533, Edgewood Veterans and Committee Member of Latinos in Action. Faithful community member of Edgewood ISD giving countless hours of support to the student athletics of the district and John F. Kennedy High School. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 for a 9:00 a.m. mass at St. John Berchmans. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery..
