Col. Rhea Sue Anderson passed away on May 28, 2013. She was born in Neosho, Missouri, graduated from Neosho High School and Nursing School. She joined the Air Force as a nurse and had a distinguished career that spanned 28 years with assignments and commands in the United States, Turkey, Taiwan and Germany. While in the Air Force she received her B.S.N., M.S. and graduated from Air Force Command School. She was selected to be on the medical staff support team for the Apollo 10 and 11 programs and received the Legion of Merit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron M. Anderson and Thelma O. Anderson, brothers, Byron M. Anderson and a sister, Mary Jane Anderson. She is survived by brothers, James N. Anderson and E. Wayne Anderson; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Anderson, Judy Anderson, many nieces and nephews and many close friends and neighbors. The graveside service and interment will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
