Retha Locke entered into rest February 9, 2010 in San Antonio at the age of 87. She was born March 22, 1922 in Bloomfield, Missouri to the late Samuel Freeman Bennett and Fannie A. (Estis) Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, M.E. (Gene) Locke in 2007. Survivors include her children Donna Vest & husband Alvin Bielefeld, Gloria Van Blarcum, Mark Alan Locke & wife Debbie; grandchildren John Vest, Ron Vest & wife Wendy, Mark Locke II, Jeffrey Locke, Eric Williams, John Daniel Van Blarcum; great grandchildren Nicholas Vest, Mitchell Vest, Kaylee Vest, Ashlee Vest, Kenna Blair, Winter Van Blarcum, Ivey Jean Van Blarcum, Bear Hunter Van Blarcum; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Viewing will be held at 11 a.m. and funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home with the committal service to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
