Raul Martinez Cantu

Raul Martinez Cantu, beloved husband, father, grandpa, and brother entered rest on January 18, 2015 at the age of 85. He was born in Corpus Christi to Angel and Elvira Cantu on March 4, 1929. Mr. Cantu honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He lived a long hard working honest life. Those who were blessed to be part of his life could tell you he was nice and especially funny, when sitting by him having drinks and watching TV a journal was kept to write all the funny things he would say; he loved to make people laugh. The family is eternally grateful for having him in their life and will greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cantu "Grandma" and is survived by children, Paul E. Cantu, Lisa Cantu Taggatz (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Ebony Cantu, Lori Ann Mimun (Daniel), Alfonso Garcia Jr. and Andrew Garcia; great-grandchildren: Jazmyn Cantu, Luke Amos Garcia; brother, Angel Luis Cantu (Lucy); sisters-in- law, Virginia, Barbara, Linda, Wanda; niece, Sandy Cho; nephews, Joseph and Erick Cantu. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
