Ramon G. Mata

Ramon G. Mata born on March 16, 1929 in Monterey, N.L., Mexico went to be with our Lord on March 8, 2011 at the age of 81. He lived unselfishly and always offered a helping hand or a kind word to anyone. Wherever he went he made a friend and always brought a smile to those around him. His heart was filled with love for all and he will be remembered as El Rey. He is survived by his wife Maria Elena S. Mata; daughters and sons, Gloria M. Briseno (Michael J. ); Henry Mata (Araceli); George Mata (Richard Thorpe) ; Irma M. Hess (Jens); grandchildren, James Bosquez, Joseph Mata, Amber Mata, and Blue Hess; great granddaughter, Ezra Bosquez; sister, Concepcion Mata; sisters-in-law, Consuelo S. Castillo, Angelita Sanchez, and Hermelinda R. Mata; also, numerous nieces and nephews. Furthermore, Ramon is survived by hundreds of family and friends who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Procession will depart from the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 for a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2. Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
