Rachel Rivera Marin, has gone on to her eternal home with the Lord and loved ones, on May 16, 2019, at the age of 95. She was born on November 27, 1923 in San Antonio, TX to Victoriano and Marina Rivera. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Juan G. Marin and daughter: Linda Marin. She is survived by her children: Irma Herrera (Gabriel), John A. Marin (Cheryl), Margaret Hackett (Richard), Diana Barkley (Larry), David Marin; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings: Daniel Rivera (Leanne), Esther Zimdhal (Earl), Grace Seales, Elias Rivera; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rachel was a devoted wife for 40 years, loving mother and amazing grandmother. She loved to travel with her family and cherished the memories all through her life. She was a medical Transcriber for Wilford Hall for over 30 years. She loved to read, listen to music, bake and enjoyed winning at Scrabble. She loved her family more than anything is this world and was an avid animal lover. She leaves a legacy of strength, courage, compassion and love. Rachel was surrounded by loved ones and filled with God’s promise as she prepared for her journey. The Family celebrates all that she has done, all that she has shared and all that is still to come in her name and honor.

A Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 6pm-9pm at Sunset Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 7pm. A committal service will be held the next day at 2 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
