Pete G. Lozano Jr.

Pete G. Lozano Jr., went to heaven peacefully on March 24, 2020. He passed at his home located in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his children and family after losing his battle to pancreatic cancer, he was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 22, 1948.

Pete lived his life to the fullest. Although he fought many battles, both health wise and family, he always loved life, loved challenges, loved his children, and most of all loved that he had been blessed with many years and memories. Pete reached every one of his goals and wishes. He made it to Eric’s HS and College graduation, Esperanza’s Quinceañera, Esperanza’s high school graduation, and was so proud of her on her first day of college. And last by not least, witnessed Eric marry a beautiful partner in Amanda who became a big part of Pete’s life. Pete would often say “you guys are set now, I have lived my life and I have paved the road for you and now I am ready to go play dominoes and checkers with my Dad in heaven and hopefully he won’t try to cheat this time”.

Pete enjoyed his twin boys, Adam and Peter, going out of state hunting, fishing, he would often say, my boys are grown men now and I taught them to stand up and not take no BS from no one, he was proud of all their accomplishments. They too have many memories, working hard alongside their dad at the trucking company, good times, bad times, but Pete loved them, he did not go to heaven until he said bye to both of them.

Pete enjoyed ranching, cattle raising, and would spend as much time as possible at his 3L Ranch located in LaSalle County. Pete enjoyed hunting at his ranch, fishing in Corpus Christi and Rockport, enjoyed gambling in Las Vegas, most importantly he enjoyed his Trucking and Construction businesses. Alongside his father, the Late Mr. Pete G. Lozano Sr, they founded and operated Pete G. Lozano Trucking Co. Pete was so proud to be a part of moving the historic Fairmount Hotel downtown in 1985. Although he had numerous businesses, it was “if you know “Lozano Trucking”, you knew Pete Jr,” that’s just the way it was. He would say that no one could ever take that great feeling from him, years of hard work that earned him that respect and loved it! His final years were spent working with his company, Lozano Construction and Trucking Co Inc., which he formed in 1982. He and his son Eric made so many great memories working together, going to equipment auctions, and of course going fishing every chance they got. They hardly ever caught anything and the boat was usually broken when they returned. We sure are going to miss the days when Pete would walk through the door and say “we’re home from the coast and please make an appointment to take the boat to the shop for it needs some repairs…again”! Pete loved it; a lot of adventures and memories for Eric.

Pete is survived by his wife, Rosanna (which usually had to be the one to bail them out of some of their adventures) sons, Pete III (Pamala), Adam (Marissa), Eric (Amanda), which Pete loved like a daughter. Amanda was his side kick, driving him around town and taking him to lunch to his favorites spots, his only daughter, Esperanza, which could talk him to doing just about anything, grandchildren, Anjelica Lozano, Coroline Lozano, Abigail Lozano, Adam Lozano Jr, Scott Lozano, Brooke Lozano, numerous nephews and nieces, one brother, Daniel Lozano, sisters Olga Garcia and Rosanne Seale (Bo)

Sister in laws, Becky and her husband Sam, a great brother in law and perfect personal cook for Pete’s picky appetite, (LOL) Leslie and her husband Randy and Rachel G. Wilson, brother in laws, “Rose’s brothers) Bobby Garcia and Rene Garcia Jr, and his father in law Rene Garcia Sr.

A special thanks to his best friend ever, Gary Harwell (Moni). They were childhood friends and stayed together through all these years, never left each other, always had each other’s back, good things and a little bit of bad things, but together until the end.

Pete had a tremendous amount of good friends, both business and personal. The family appreciates all the visits and phone calls throughout his illness. It was amazing to see so many friends come to our home to visit.

Pete is proceeded in death by his best friend, his father, Pete G. Lozano Sr, his mother, Theresa Lozano, his sister, Irma Lozano, and his mother in law Odilia Garcia which he adored, (I am sure they are together now and living it up.)

A special thanks to all the nurses and doctors at Methodist Transplant Hospital, and Dr. Carl Dukes which was not only his doctor but his friend of over 30 years.

Due to the current situation with COVID-19; there will not be an official service.

Pete will be cremated and his ashes will reside at his beloved 3L Ranch.
