Dr. Patricia A. Powers entered into eternal rest on October 22, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. She was born at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX on February 10, 1947 to Ralph Wagnon and Mary Emma Wagnon.
Patricia was an amazing woman with a huge heart and quick wit. Teaching was not just a job for her but a passion. Patricia taught at McCollum and Burbank High School and was Vice Principal at Gus Garcia Middle School. She worked extremely hard to achieve her Doctorate of Education degree from Texas A&M University, an accomplishment she was extremely proud of. She enjoyed the time she spent outside of the classroom serving as a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and working to honor our departed veterans and family members as part of the Memorial Service Detachment for Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In personal time she loved puzzles games and spending time with those she loved, but her most treasured past time was traveling. Patricia was quick to jump in the car and hit the open road ready to explore and meet new people. It’s been said that she never knew a stranger, and that her warm smile and loving personality drew people to her and she loved to spend time talking with them. Any trip with her whole family was always extra special.
Patricia leaves behind her loving husband Christopher, her son James and daughter in law Deniece, her son Matthew and daughter in law Lauren, her sister Mary Evelyn Schwarzlose, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. All will cherish the wonderful memories they hold dear.
She has now reunited with her beloved parents, her father Ralph Wilson Wagnon and Mary Emma Wagnon, her sister Terri Jo Wagnon, her brother Robert Wagnon and her sweet granddaughter Ajah Brianna Barnes.
