From humble beginnings, Noah was born during the Great Depression, difficult times made bearable because of his strong family faith in Christ and His Word, established at the First Mexican Baptist Church.
While in school, he discovered he had a natural aptitude for athletics: football, basketball, track; his love being baseball. He served in the Korean War, as Naval Chief Petty Officer, earning Good Conduct, Incheon Medal, and honorably discharged while aboard the USS Jason.
After the Navy, while visiting the Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana of San Antonio, he accepted Christ as Savior and Lord, and met the love of his life, Josie. There, they would marry and actively serve for +60 years.
His educational commitment motivated him towards an Associates from St Philip’s College, a BA from St. Mary’s University, and a Master’s degree from Antioch University, earning him the position as Bilingual Director for the Harlandale ISD for 27 years. His Christian/community service commitment: South San School Board, Bexar County Civil Service Commission, Baptist Hospital, Baptist Health Foundation, Baptist University of the Americas, Wayland Baptist University Advisory, BGCT, TEA and as a deacon, trustee and administrator of his church were his joy.
Noah was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 59 years: Josefina (Josie) Vasquez Rodriguez; brother: Eli Joel Rodriguez; granddaughter: Tiffany Rangel.
He is survived by his brother: Joe Rodriguez, loving children: Noah A. Rodriguez, Jr. (Darlene), Cathy Rangel (Robert) and Michelle Flores (Ricardo Jr.); grandchildren: Shaun Rodriguez, Vanessa Chamorro (Harry), Noah A. Rodriguez II (Janelle), Luis Rodriguez (Wendy), Amanda Rangel, Sarah Barrick (Josh), Rebekah Bailey (Darren), Naomi Flores, Ricardo Antonio Flores III, Samuel Noah Flores, Elias Flores and Andres Flores; 13 great-grandchildren.
