San Antonio, Texas – Ninfa Alicia Guerrero, 69, died October 26, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, the daughter of Hortensia and Rogelio Rangel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves a void in the hearts of countless lives she touched, and her earthly presence will be dearly missed.
Ninfa graduated from Alamo Heights High School where she met her husband, Alfredo Guerrero. Married in 1971, their greatest accomplishments were their two children, Kelly, and Steven.
Ninfa’s life was one of service to others. Profoundly devoted to her faith, she placed her children in Parochial school. When her son Steven was of age, he attended St. Anthony Seminary High School, where Ninfa was involved in every aspect of school activities and affectionately known as the Parental Warden by clergy, teachers, and students.
Ninfa devoted her life-long career to healthcare. Immediately following high school, she spent time working for Dr. Walter Walthall, a very well-known and respected physician in Alamo Heights. Ninfa continued her career as a healthcare professional in numerous roles, including Operations and Administration for WellMed Medical Management. She took a break from healthcare and worked for United Way of SA and Bexar County where she joined volunteer leaders to raise millions of dollars for community agencies, impacting the lives of so many in need.
She is preceded in death by her son, Steven Guerrero, and her father, Rogelio L. Rangel.
Ninfa’s laughter was contagious. She never met a stranger, and her life can spiritually be defined by the words of St Francis of Assisi: “…grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.”
She is survived by her husband, Alfredo of 50 years, her mother, Hortensia Rangel, her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and DeMarcus Luckey, grandchildren, Jeremy and DeNae. Brothers Edward, Joe Henry, Robert, Oscar, Roy, Arthur, Raul and sisters, Mercedes Gallegos, and Letty White. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and every stray animal that came to her back door for warmth, love and affection, and food!
