Miguel Badillo Jr. born on September 16, 1946, in McAllen, Texas, was called to be with the Lord on May 1, 2015, at the age of 68. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served honorably during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal with the “V” device. He also received the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Army Commendation Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, the Air Medal, the Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry with Palm and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). He is preceded in death by his parent’s, Isabelle and Miguel Badillo Sr., and Cruz Padron. He is survived by his son, Juan Miguel Badillo, a daughter and one grandson; brothers, Andres Badillo, Joe Padron (Yolanda), Eddie Padron (Elena), Alonzo Padron (Yolanda) and Mark Padron (Elena); sisters, Juanita Gutierrez (Manuel), Elia Rodriguez (Emilio) and Katie Castillo (Gilbert); also, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and one great-great-nephew. A visitation will be held from 5pm to 9pm on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:45 am on Monday, May 11, 2015, in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
