Martha Ruth Cobb

Martha Ruth Cobb, age 82 went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2014 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on November 16, 1931 in Harlingen, TX to William Ralph & Anna Jackson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. She attended Brownsville ISD, graduated in June 1954. She attended the University of Texas in Austin, where she met and married her lifelong partner, Robert S. Cobb. She was an entrepreneur with several businesses during her life including a custom frame shop in Houston, TX, a Square Dance apparel shop in Houston, TX and a beaded jewelry company, Classic Elegance in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX participating in craft shows in and around the San Antonio area. She was an avid reader, excellent seamstress and enjoyed making dainty little girl clothes for her granddaughter, Katie. She loved her home in Fair Oaks Ranch which she designed and was the general contractor while it was being built in 1997. She would commute every day from Floresville, TX to oversee and manage the subcontractors. Martha & Robert spent many enjoyable years traveling the U.S. and Canada in their RV. During their RV adventures, they enjoyed square & round dancing. She suffered from Alzheimer’s for the past few years.

She is survived by her husband, Robert S. Cobb; 2 children, Debbie Hindman & husband John and Colette Wollenberg & husband Ray; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Perkins, Katie Perkins and Ryan Wollenberg; brother, William Jackson, Jr.; numerous other loving family members.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 with the Funeral Service to be at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Mausoleum 5000.
