Maria D. Trevino

Our Heavenly Father has taken His beloved daughter, Maria “Wela” Trevino to join her husband Jose Luis Trevino, her two children Laura and Daniel and her grandson Eric Daniel Hernandez. She died peacefully surrounded by her family after a long illness.

She is survived by her two daughters, Gloria Silva and Laura Hernandez, and two sons, Jose Luis Trevino and Gerardo Trevino.

“Wela” spent the majority of her adult life in Harlingen, Texas where she was well known throughout the neighborhood for feeding the poor and helping out children in need. She loved to plant roses, cactus, fruit trees and all different types of flowers. Her favorite past time was fishing with her family and preparing it for meals, despite not eating fish. She especially loved her 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

“Welo and Wela” were wonderful loving parents who travelled frequently no matter the location to support the entire family during birthdays, births, illness, graduations and holiday.

They are missed by all.

Her funeral mass will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom road, San Antonio, Texas 78251 on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM
