Maria J. Martinez

Maria J. Long-Martinez age 83 of San Antonio, TX passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born in Muzquiz, Coahuila Mexico to parents David Long and Socorro Franco de Long. Her passing was the last of the 13 children. She lived a great life and traveled to 36 countries during her lifetime. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and listening to Mariachi bands. She was vivacious, loving, and a shining star. She owned two businesses – “Beachcomber” Beauty Salon and “Los Taquitos” restaurant. She was a nurse, teacher, and even a counselor.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Norman A. Jacobson, and her 12 siblings.

She is survived by her second husband, Rick P. Martinez.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Norman D. Jacobson (Mireya), Janet Jacobson-Abraham (Mark), John Jacobson (Carolyn), and Joseph Jacobson (Lea).

She is survived by step-children: Rachelle Busby and Rique Martinez.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Alexis Kingsbaker (BJ), John Abraham (LaRayn), Matthew Abraham, Kieren Jacobson, Norman Jacobson Jr., Daniel Jacobson, Greta Jacobson, Hannah Jacobson, Lauren Jacobson, and her seven step-grandchildren.

She is survived by her four great-grandchildren: Carson Kingsbaker, Cody Jax Kingsbaker, Lincoln Abraham, and Casey Kingsbaker.

A Prayer Service for Maria will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2 pm; for those unable to attend in person, please feel free to join through the live stream at https://www.facebook.com/FDATrevinoPaloAlto. A reception will follow at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio TX 78211, after services.

A committal service will occur Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach San Antonio TX 78209.
