Maria Guadalupe (Robledo) Leslie

Maria Guadalupe (Robledo) Leslie, age 67, passed away on May 13, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 5, 1955 in Monterrey, Mexico. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister who will be dearly missed.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and Guadalupe Robledo. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Leslie and Matthew Leslie (Sonia); her grandchildren, Codie Leslie, Auden Leslie, Isla Leslie; her siblings Gerardo Robledo (Dolores) and Margaret Neel (Bill); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maria Leslie graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and received her Masters Degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling from Texas A&M University Kingsville.

Maria had a career working in multiple schools for the Harlandale Independent School District including Harlandale Middle School, Kingsborough Middle School, McCollum High School, and Harlandale High School as a councelor. In 2013, Maria retired and spent her time with her grandchildren, baking, and serving her Catholic community.

Maria was a devoted parishioner of St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. Maria was a Vincentian as an active member in St. Vincent de Paul for many years.

Maria lived a life of service, which can be seen through her lengthy career in education to her actions with her beloved St. Vincent de Paul. In 2020, Maria was awarded the Lumen Gentium by her parish. The Lumen Gentium Award is bestowed upon Catholic laypeople from each parish who have demonstrated participation in the Catholic Church’s mission to bring Christ’s light to all.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25th from 6-8 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 26th at 10:00 am at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church at 111 Barilla Place; San Antonio, TX 78209. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Vincent de Paul, the parish organization Maris cared deeply about.
