Maria Mendoza Flores

Maria M. Flores went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 29, 1926 to the late Isidoro Mendoza and Matiana Casarez Mendoza. She resided in Del Rio, Texas. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Isidoro Mendoza and Matiana Casarez Mendoza; her husband Jose U. Flores of Del Rio, Texas; her son Francisco (Frank) Flores of Del Rio, Texas; her siblings, Anastacia Mendoza of Del Rio, Texas, Guadalupe M. Leyva of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Lucila Mendoza Medrano of Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. She is survived by daughter Mary Lou Rodriguez (Michael H. Rodriguez) and granddaughter Melessa C. Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; siblings Armando C. Mendoza of Del Rio, Texas; Francisco C. Mendoza of Pasco, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews from Cuidad Acuna and Cuidad Juarez, Mexico; Del Rio, and Forth Worth, Texas; The Rio Grande Valley; Pasco, Washington; Carlsbad, New Mexico and numerous other cousins and family members. Maria was one of 11 children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Maria was a dedicated member of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Del Rio, Texas where she loved playing her guitar and singing with the choir during Sunday mass and served the community as a Eucharistic Minister.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Sunset Northwest Funeral Home (6321 Bandera Rd., SATX 78238). A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery—Cordi-Marian (11624 Culebra Rd., SATX 78253). Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
