Maria Lucia Amaya, born on June 25, 1925 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by her children; Michael Amaya, Jose Amaya, and Estella Amaya. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Avenue, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m Mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 3. The family would like to give a special thanks to Maria's long-term care giver and friend, Josephine Garcia.
