Maria Refugio Alvarez

Maria Refugio Alvarez, born on November 23, 1937 in San Antonio, TX was called to be with The Lord on December 1, 2020 at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lazaro and Juana Esparza; husband, Antonio G. Alvarez; brothers, Margarito Rodriguez, Alex Esparza and Lazaro Esparza Jr., sisters; Mariana Villarreal and Angelita Ybarra; grandson, Lazaro Alvarez Jr.; great granddaughter, Lazariah Alvarez. She is survived by her children, Antonio Alvarez Jr. (Mary Lou), Lazaro E. Alvarez (Sylvia) and Diane E. ALvarez; grandchildren; Antonio Alvarez III, Adam Ray Alvarez, Adrian John Alvarez, Larry Alvarez, Jose Antonio Alvarez, Juan Alvarez, Carolina Gomez, Fenix Gomez and Isaiah Gomez; great grandchildren, Serenity Rey Alvarez, Emilio Callaway, Jonah Alvarez, Lazaro Alvarez III; siblings, Patricio Esparza, Esperanza Molleda, Rita Ramos and Rosa Costilla. The Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Communion Service at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.

Due to Covid -19 restrictions, only 50 guests will be allowed in the funeral home chapel.

Facial coverings are required to be worn at all times while in the building.
