Maria Diana Abrego, born on April 27, 1968, in San Pedro de Colimas, Coachella, Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. Diana was a devoted member of the Family Readiness Group (F.R.G.), supporting military families with compassion and dedication.
She brought joy and laughter to those around her through her love of playing Loteria, dancing, singing karaoke, playing pool, and attending concerts with her friends. Diana also enjoyed relaxing at home, often watching her favorite novellas or connecting with loved ones on Facebook. She worked at the VA Hospital where she was known for her strong work ethic, always going above and beyond. Her hard work and strong family values were evident in everything she did, especially in the precious time she spent with her family.
She is preceded in death by her son, Reynaldo Abrego III, her parents, Guadalupe Nino Hernandez and Andrea Torres Sandate, and her sister, Guadalupe Nino Torres.
Diana is survived by her loving husband, Reynaldo Abrego Jr.; her son, Patrick Rey Abrego; her sisters, Maricela Mejia Torres, Gabby Torres Mejia, Rosie Nino Torres, Norma Nino Torres, Rosario Nino Torres, and Maribel Nino Torres; her brothers, Sergio Nino Torres, Severando Nino Torres, and Rigoberto Nino Torres. She also leaves behind her father-in-law, Manuel DeLeon, her mother-in-law, Santa Abrego, and numerous family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Services for Maria Diana Abrego will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, TX 78226, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, October 25, 2024, our doors will open at 8:30am, we will then go in procession for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 1619 S. Flores St., San Antonio, TX 78204. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
