Manuel Rodriguez Rios III

Manuel Rodriguez Rios III, age 69, of San Antonio, Texas was called home to the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Manuel was born in St. Hedwig, Texas on August 8, 1951 to the late Eliza Z. Rodriguez and Manuel Fernandez Rios, Jr. He joined the Army at the age of 22 where he was a vehicle mechanic. After being discharged from the military, he worked and retired from Southwest Research Institute where he worked as a shift leader. He loved playing third base with the San Juan Rebels where he forged life long friendships. He had a passion for softball, fishing, old cars, Betty Boop, flea markets and yard sailing. He was a member of the St. Dominic's ACTS and Ministry of the Third Cross Communities. Manuel was a man of faith who loved praying the rosary and cherished the many bonds he built with his Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eustolio and Guadalupe Rodriguez, his brother Eustolio R. Rios and his niece Norma Jean Rios. He is loved and will be missed by his daughter, Esperanza Rios (Jaclyn), grandchildren, Lilibeth and George Robles; sister Shirley Rios Ruiz and Diana Hernandez,

brothers, Ernesto Rios (Delia), Daniel R Rios, and Peter Rios (Virginia); numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend Orpheus.

Visitation for Manuel will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, May 31, 2021 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 P.M. A Requiem Mass will take place Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St Dominic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd, San Antonio, TX 78228, followed by internment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., at 1:00 P.M.
