Lucia O. Armstrong

Lucia O. Armstrong, age 81, of San Antonio, TX, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023. She was born on December 13th, 1941, in New Braunfels to Federico and Anita Ortiz. “Lucy,” as affectionately known by her family and friends, was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend.

She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Lucy is survived by her three devoted sisters, Jaynee, Alicia, and Esther, and two brothers, Jimmy and David, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace O. Armstrong, parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Lucy dedicated her time to taking care of her home and garden after marrying Wallace. She found joy in this role and excelled at it. She had a wide range of interests, including sports, jewelry making, gardening, sewing, crafting, and holiday decorating. Lucy loved showcasing her decorations and beautiful yard to her family and neighbors. She was a kind and generous person who always extended a helping hand to her neighbors. She assisted them by bringing in their trash cans, tidying up their yards, and sharing her plants with them. Lucy's talent for jewelry making and crafting was exceptional; everything she created was a work of art. She had a way with words, always motivating and uplifting people with her kindness. Her beautiful smile made everyone feel safe and loved.

Lucy’s legacy will be remembered through her love of her family, the warmth and generosity she extended to everyone, and her unwavering faith.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M. on December 5th, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, with a Memorial service at 11:30 A.M.
