Judy Lynn Solis

Judy Lynn Solis went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2012 at the age of 60. She was born on July 15, 1951 in Jackson, Michigan to Gerald and Frances Hess. A graduate of Jackson High School, class of ’69; Judy continued her education at Michigan State University. There she earned both her bachelors and masters degrees. Judy worked in education for thirty eight years. As an educator, Judy began at the American School in Guatemala teaching English. Following Guatemala, Judy traveled across America applying for teaching positions. A call from SSISD awarded her a position as a Math teacher at Shepard Middle School. Judy spent thirty two years in the state of Texas. She retired head counselor at Connally Middle School, head counselor at Jordan Middle School, counselor at Scobee Elementary, and educator in SSISD. Judy loved to travel, read, spend time by the water and antique shopping. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Hess. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Daniel Solis Jr. children, Brian Solis and Alexis Solis; mother, Frances Hess; brother, Charles “Chuck” Hess; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Flower donations are welcome or donations can be made to the ALS Foundation, www.alsa.org/donate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, and Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place on June 29, 2012, 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Jackson, Michigan.
